Simulation-driven production optimization at Bolton Railings

Bolton Railings, a rapidly growing company, faced a challenge: their production capacity was unable to keep up with their expansion. The manufacturing processes for two of their product lines were overlapping across two buildings, causing a dip in efficiency.

Our intervention

Progima’s team of experts employed a simulation-driven design approach to pinpoint bottlenecks and understand the unique requirements at each stage of production. This data-driven strategy allowed them to restructure the building layouts optimally, effectively segregating the manufacturing processes of the two product lines. This strategic separation streamlined the product flow significantly. Progima also supported the Bolton Railings team on the purchase of new equipment and the disposal of obsolete or unused machinery. With both product lines completely independent and optimized, the company is now positioned to significantly increase its production capacity.
